• Rugged Construction: Built with aluminum epoxy powder-coated cases, drip shields, and stainless steel fixings, the Skylla-i withstands harsh marine environments including heat, humidity, and salt air. Circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Integrated temperature sensors automatically reduce output current to keep power components operating within safe limits.
• Flexible Charging Options: Equipped with a CAN bus (NMEA2000) interface, rotary switches, DIP switches, and potentiometers, allowing you to customize the charge algorithm to suit your specific battery type and usage conditions. Refer to the manual for comprehensive configuration options.
• Synchronized Parallel Operation: Link multiple chargers seamlessly via the CAN bus interface using RJ45 UTP cables. Note that two-output and three-output chargers are not compatible for paralleling. Detailed instructions are available in the manual.
• Optimized Charging for Lead-Acid Batteries: Features variable absorption time to prevent overcharging during shallow discharges and ensures complete recharging after deep discharges.
• BatterySafe Mode: Prevents damage from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase rate when high charge currents and absorption voltages are used.
• Storage Mode: Minimizes battery maintenance and aging by reducing float voltage when the battery hasn’t been discharged for 24 hours. Periodically refreshes the battery to prevent electrolyte stratification and sulphation.
• Temperature Compensation: Includes a battery temperature sensor that adjusts charge voltage based on battery temperature, enhancing battery life, especially for sealed lead-acid and environments with fluctuating temperatures.
• Battery Voltage Sense: Compensates for voltage loss due to cable resistance, ensuring the battery always receives the correct charge voltage.
• Versatile Power Supply Options: Compatible with both AC and DC supplies, allowing for AC-DC and DC-DC operation. Can also function as a stable power supply when batteries or large buffer capacitors are unavailable.
• Li-Ion (LiFePO4) Ready: Supports simple on-off control via relay or optocoupler connected to a Li-Ion BMS, or complete voltage and current control through the isolated CAN bus port.
