Product Description
Product Description
Enhance the safety of your marine excursions with the Ignition Safety Kill Switch. Specifically engineered for boaters and personal watercraft enthusiasts, this vital device ensures immediate shutdown of your engine in emergency situations by quickly cutting off the battery power when detached from your life vest.
Key Features
- Instant Power Cutoff: Automatically interrupts battery power to the ignition system when the switch is detached, preventing unauthorized use or engine runaways.
- Durable Lanyard: Comes with a coiled lanyard measuring approximately 15" when coiled and 48" when stretched. Ensure to replace the lanyard if it appears worn, cut, or frayed for optimal performance.
- Easy Installation: Features a standard 5/8" diameter mounting hole, accommodating panel thickness up to 5/8".
- High Compatibility: Designed for circuits that are normally closed (complete) with a maximum current draw of 5A, making it suitable for a wide range of marine applications.
- Reliable Operation: The ignition (gray cap) version maintains a closed circuit with the lanyard clip securely in place, ensuring consistent engine control.
How It Works
The Ignition Safety Kill Switch is integrated into your marine vessel’s ignition system. Under normal operation, the circuit remains closed, allowing the engine to run smoothly. When the lanyard is pulled and the clip is removed from the switch, the circuit opens, cutting off the current to the ignition and instantly shutting down the engine. This mechanism provides a critical safety feature, allowing operators to quickly disable the engine in case of emergencies such as sudden engine failure, operator incapacitation, or unauthorized use.
