Lightweight Design
The Series 40 Orbit Block boasts an exceptionally lightweight design, making it the world’s lightest orbit block in its category. The innovative orbital system ensures that bearings are only engaged in the active areas of the floating sheave, significantly reducing the mass of inactive components. This design minimizes weight without compromising strength, allowing for easier handling and installation on various marine vessels.
Different block configurations further reduce weight and bulk. The single and becket block features a through-sheave becket arrangement, achieving the lowest possible weight. Multi-sheave blocks utilize single intermediate cheeks and an ultra-light head arrangement, offering a 30% weight advantage over competitors. Unlike other brands that use multiple heavy steel channels, our design eliminates unnecessary double cheeks, resulting in a streamlined and efficient orbit block.
Highest Working Load in Its Class
The Series 40 Orbit Block is built to handle the highest working loads in its class. Its orbital ball-bearing arrangement features the largest possible bearing race diameter, maximizing load capacity and performance. The Ronstan 2-stage bearing system includes high compression grade acetal ball bearings and a secondary full-contact bearing, ensuring minimal friction across the entire working load range.
The floating sheave and bearing system are supported by a fiber-reinforced load frame, which has been computer-modeled for optimal stress distribution and durability. This robust construction guarantees reliable performance even under demanding marine conditions.
Recommended Fasteners: 3 x 4mm (5/32") countersunk head screws
