Installation

The Type R Stand Alone Remote is designed for mounting as a separate drive system, complete with its own cable and mounting kit. The remote drive unit can be installed in any convenient location on your vessel. Installation requires the addition of a second steering cable and a compatible connection kit. Available connection kits include options for Mercruiser or Volvo Penta stern drive engines, outboard engines, and a universal kit for inboard engines. By mounting the drive away from the engine's heat and vibrations, the system ensures longevity and reliable performance. An interconnect cable is used to seamlessly connect the remote drive to the engine steering system using one of the easy-to-mount connection kits.
