The combination of durable nitrile construction and brass inserts ensures that the impeller can withstand the demanding conditions of marine environments.
Maintenance Tips
- Regular Replacement: Replace all impellers at least once a year, or more frequently depending on engine usage and duty cycles. Adhering to a preventative maintenance schedule helps avoid unexpected failures and ensures optimal engine performance.
- Carry Spares: Always carry spare impellers on board to address any unexpected failures promptly. Having backups available can prevent extended downtime and potential damage to your engine systems.
Installation Instructions
Replacing your impeller is a straightforward process:
- Remove the end cover screws from the pump.
- Using a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel lock pliers, grip the hub of the impeller and carefully remove it.
- Important: Do not use screwdrivers, as they may damage the pump body face, causing leaks and posing safety risks in confined spaces.
- Grease the new impeller before installation to facilitate easier placement into the pump bore and to provide additional protection during the initial priming phase.
- After installing the new impeller, replace the gasket and secure the end cover screws.
- Your pump is now ready for use.
Important Notes
- Greasing: Always apply grease to new impellers before installation. This not only makes the impeller easier to install but also offers added protection during the initial priming of the pump.
- Preventative Maintenance: Regular maintenance and timely replacement of impellers help ensure the longevity and efficiency of your marine engine's cooling and pumping systems.
