Quality Assurance

Jabsco impellers undergo rigorous quality control processes to ensure they meet the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and longevity. Our commitment to quality means you can trust that your impeller will perform consistently, reducing the risk of engine overheating and ensuring smooth operation on the water.

Maintenance Tips

  • Regular Replacement: Replace all impellers at least once every year, or sooner depending on engine usage. Adhering to a preventative maintenance schedule helps avoid unexpected failures and ensures optimal performance.
  • Easy Replacement: Replacing the impeller is straightforward. Remove the end cover screws, then use a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel lock pliers to grip and remove the impeller hub. Avoid using screwdrivers to prevent damage to the pump body and potential leaks.
  • Carry Spares: Always keep spare impellers on board to address emergencies promptly. The impeller is a critical component of the engine cooling system, and having replacements on hand can prevent extended downtime.
  • Greasing: Apply grease to new impellers before installation. This not only facilitates easier installation into the pump bore but also provides additional protection during the initial prime. After replacing the gasket and end cover, your pump is ready for use.

Installation Instructions

  1. Ensure the engine is off and cool before starting the replacement process.
  2. Remove the end cover screws to access the impeller.
  3. Use a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel lock pliers to grip the hub of the impeller and carefully remove it.
  4. Inspect the pump body for any signs of wear or damage.
  5. Insert the new impeller, ensuring it is properly seated in the pump bore.
  6. Apply grease to the impeller to protect it during initial use.
  7. Replace the gasket and end cover, then secure the end cover screws.
  8. Test the pump to ensure it is functioning correctly and there are no leaks.
