Product Description
Product Description
The GPS160 TriNav Sensor with SeaTalk Interface Bundle is a cutting-edge positioning device designed specifically for marine and boating applications. Combining GPS, Galileo, and Glonass satellite systems, it delivers unparalleled accuracy and reliability to enhance your navigation experience on the water.
Advanced TriNav Technology
The GPS160 leverages TriNav technology to utilize GPS, Galileo, and Glonass satellites simultaneously. This multi-GNSS approach ensures superior positioning accuracy and redundancy, providing you with the most reliable navigation data even in challenging environments.
Customizable Configuration
Field programmable to suit your specific needs, the GPS160 can operate in various modes, including:
- Single GNSS operation (e.g., using Galileo only)
- Multiple GNSS systems concurrently for enhanced accuracy
- Configurable output settings such as update rate and NMEA sentence structure
Connectivity Options
Choose the connectivity option that best fits your marine setup:
Variant | Description |
---|---|
NMEA 0183 | Available with programmable baud rates of 4800, 38400, and 115200. Ideal for integrating with existing NMEA 0183 systems. |
NMEA 2000 | Bundled with the iKonvert interface for seamless installation into NMEA 2000 networks without cumbersome drop cables. |
USB | Compatible with PC, Mac, and Linux systems, allowing direct connection for data logging and analysis. |
Wireless (WLN10SM) | Provides wireless connectivity for flexible installation and ease of use. |
MOB Support and Safety
The GPS160 includes support for an external MOB (Man Overboard) switch or device. When activated, it generates a “synthesized” AIS (Automatic Identification System) SART (Search and Rescue Transponder) MOB message on the NMEA output. This feature enables seamless interfacing with local plotters for immediate MOB identification and response.
Unmatched Positioning Accuracy
With support for GPS, Glonass, and Galileo positioning, the GPS160 ensures optimal fix accuracy and reliability. The TriNav technology synergizes signals from all three satellite systems, offering sub-meter accuracy in most scenarios.
High-Speed Data Transmission
The device supports multiple NMEA data output formats, including datum information, which is configurable via internal DIP switches. Users can select baud rates up to 115200 and adjust the update rate up to 18Hz to meet diverse data transmission requirements.
Energy Efficient Design
Designed with low power consumption in mind, the GPS160 operates at less than 20mA on a 12V DC system, ensuring it doesn't strain your vessel's power resources.
Easy Installation
The GPS160 features a puck installation or fits onto any third-party industry standard 1” x 14TPI threaded mount, allowing for versatile installation options tailored to your marine environment.
Additional Features
- 72 channel GPS, Glonass, and Galileo GNSS positioning receiver
- Sophisticated anti-spoofing algorithms for robust performance and interference rejection
- Professional ECDIS system support with datum sentence structures (DTM/GBS/GNS/GRS/GSA/GST)
