As required by the FCC, all units sold in the US must be programmed by a qualified technician. Please submit the form below at the time of purchase for programming. A copy of the MMSI Registration or FCC Ship Station License, along with the vessel master or owner's signature on the completed programming form, is required.

Installation and Configuration

The AIT2000 is designed for easy installation with its compact form factor and rugged mounting brackets. Configuration of your vessel's fixed data, such as MMSI, call sign, boat name, and dimensions, is streamlined using the included proAIS2 software, compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

Once configured, the transponder seamlessly integrates with a PC or Mac running suitable navigation software or a dedicated chart plotter. It transmits your vessel's position to other AIS-equipped vessels and receives AIS targets within a typical range of up to 30 nautical miles, depending on installation factors like antenna gain, height, and ground plane size.

Connect the AIT2000 to an existing VHF antenna using a splitter (SPL250) or opt for a dedicated AIS antenna for optimal performance.

Important Notes

NOTE: AIS target range, similar to VHF range, depends on several installation factors including antenna gain, antenna height, and ground plane size. Ranges exceeding 20 miles are achievable under optimal conditions.
